TSJC wraps fall season

It was a beautiful fall to play some baseball and the Trinidad State squad took full advantage of it. Playing club teams, four-year schools and fellow juco’s the Trojans were able to get plenty of practice in and now they can take a break from the field, hit the books and the weights as they look forward to 2012.

“We had a decent fall and accomplished lots of important goals and objectives we set early on,” commented Coach Scott Douglas. “We had to evaluate lots of freshman and get some of the returner’s lots of playing time, especially the guys who did not play much in the summer. We have a long way to go as far as building a team from a group of guys but we made some of the necessary strides. I'll feel a lot better about things when grades come in. It will be good to change it up, hit the weight room, and let the guys catch up on some class stuff.”

The Trojans will return to the practice diamond in January with their first game on February 3 against Eastern Arizona in Thatcher, Arizona. They hope to earn a Region IX playoff spot for the fifth season in a row.
