Trinidad State Junior College Softball Coach Steve Swazo continues his busy recruiting season by announcing the addition of a pair of utility players for next year’s Lady Trojan roster.

Torri Atencio played her high school ball at Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs. During her senior season Torri hit for a .417 batting average and also recorded 200 strikeouts from the pitching circle. She was a 4-year letter-winner and also was selected the team’s MVP her senior year. She was selected to play in the Colorado Springs Metro League Senior game.

“We are excited to have Torri become part of the Trojan family as her older sister also played for the Lady Trojans,” Coach Swazo said. “Torri is a utility player that can pitch and go behind the plate so she can help us in many areas.”

Torri is the daughter of Donald and Rosalie Atencio

Allie Cunningham

Allie Cunningham comes to the Lady Trojans from Woodland Park

Also joining the Lady Trojans in the fall will be Woodland Park standout Allie Cunningham. During her senior campaign Allie hit for a .446 batting average while collecting 25 hits and driving in 16 runs. During the 2011 season she was named first team All-Conference and first team All-State.

“Allie is a type of player that will work very hard in the classroom and also on the field,” Coach Swazo said. “She had a great year coming off a foot injury and will fit nicely into our program.”

Allie is the daughter of Chad and Angela Cunningham.
