The TSJC golf team helped get Cougar Canyon ready for this week's tournament

The TSJC golf team has had a great fall season, including their latest win at the Eastern Wyoming Invitational this past weekend. Kyle Roll shot a 67 on Friday to help the Trojans pull away from Eastern and claim the tournament by 14 strokes. Roll’s low round helped him pass teammate Kaelen Gunderson to claim the individual title.

This week the Trojans will host their annual invitational tournament starting on Thursday afternoon at the Municipal Course and finishing play on Friday morning at Cougar Canyon.

“With the Trinidad municipal course and Cougar Canyon we have one of the best situations in the country for golf,” said Coach Rich Holden.

Before play gets underway this week Coach Holden and the Trojan golfers were at Cougar Canyon helping prepare the course by cleaning out one of the biggest bunkers in the nation.

“Cougar has always been very supportive of our program,” commented Coach Holden. “They’ve never wavered in the toughest of times so it is nice to give back.”

Tournament play will start at 1 p.m. on Thursday with the second round teeing off at 8 a.m. on Friday.
