Andrew KappleTrinidad State Junior College baseball catcher Andrew Kapple was named First Team All- American by the National Junior College Athletic Association following his standout sophomore season with the Trojans.

Over 10,000 athletes played NJCAA baseball this year. Of those only 12 were selected to the Division I first team.

“I am really happy for Andrew and his family,” commented Trojan Head Coach Scott Douglas. “He deserved the recognition because of all the work and preparation that he put in. I was pretty hard on “Kap” to be his best and he responded every time, we’ll miss him!"

Kapple led the Trojans offensively hitting .410 on the season with 55 hits, 16 doubles, one triple and four homeruns. He also drove in 42 runs for Trinidad.

“I liked playing in Trinidad,” Kapple said. “I had fun playing there and appreciated what I had. I look forward to improving in the future.”

Kapple will continue his baseball career at Stephenville, Texas playing for the Tarleton Texans.
