Infielder signs with Trinidad State

Jackie Sanzolone Jackie Sanzolone

Trinidad State Junior College softball coach Steve Swazo is proud to announce the signing of Jackie Sanzolone, a second baseman from Ralston Valley High School in Arvada, Colorado.

Sanzolone’s comes from a program that knows how to win as her high school team finished second in the Class 5A championships losing to Legacy the past two years. During her sophomore year, she was part of a team that won the 4A state championship and her junior year; they were Class 5A runner-up at the state tournament. This past year, she was a second-team all-conference and finished the season with a .320 batting average with 24 hits and 14 RBI along with a fielding % of .990. She was also chosen to the CCGS All-State team and is a 2-year varsity letter winner on the softball and basketball teams.

“Jackie is a very good defensive player and is not afraid to get dirty,” Swazo said. “She is another player who I believe did not get enough credit for her ability on the playing field. She comes from a winning program and knows what it takes to be a winner. We are very fortunate to have Jackie becoming a Lady Trojan for the 2010-11 softball season.

Jackie is the daughter of Jeff and Marilyn Sanzolone.
