Trojan teams play for a cure

The Susan G. Komen Foundation is dedicated to education and research about causes, treatment, and the search for a cure for cancer. It is the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. The TSJC softball and baseball teams will join in the fight against cancer this weekend as they play in the 2011 Raton Fall Baseball and Softball Bash.

 

The scrimmages will be held in Raton, New Mexico on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday the Trojan baseball team will face New Mexico Military at 3pm and then end the day’s play against Otero at 5:30pm. On Sunday they will play a doubleheader with Luna starting at 2:30pm.

 

On Saturday the Softball team will face Luna at 3pm, Frank Phillips at 5pm and Northeastern at 7pm. On Sunday the two teams with the least wins on Saturday will play a doubleheader at 9am. The teams with the most wins will play a doubleheader at 1pm.

 

Saturday, October 1 is Susan B. Koman Breast Cancer Day and the women’s Teams will be playing with the pink balls in honor of Breast Cancer Survivors and Victims. The TSJC Lady Trojans will be wearing their pink jerseys. A concession stand will be offered at the field with all proceeds going to “Susan B. Koman for the Cure”.
