Trojans open Region play with win

The TSJC Lady Trojans dismantled McCook Community College at Scott Gym this past Thursday evening to open Region IX play with a 1-0 record. The Trojans topped the Indians in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-15.

Molly McHenry had a great game for TSJC playing in the back row and making many great digs to keep the ball alive for the Trojans. Setter Sydney Wilson finished the game with 17 assists getting the ball up high for Kaylee Johnson and the rest of the TSJC hitters. Johnson had another great game at the net finishing with nine kills and six blocks.

TSJC (12-12, 1-0) will host #14 Northeastern tonight (September 30) at 7pm. They will then host Otero on Tuesday (October 4) for the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Volleyball Game. There will be many free giveaways at the game which will also have free hot dogs provided by the TSJC Booster Club. Don’t forget to wear pink and come out to support the Lady Trojans.
