Walker and Evans sign with Lady Trojans

Following the successful twenty win 2011 season Coach Ellen McGill is working hard to keep the TSJC Volleyball program moving in the right direction. To go along with a strong returning class McGill recently signed Shelby Walker and Angela Evans to join the Lady Trojans next season.

Shelby Walker is a 6’ middle blocker from Springer, New Mexico. She played for Des Moines High School where she was named All-State Second Team, All District and District Most Valuable Player. Shelby also plays basketball for the Lady Demons.

“Shelby is a tremendous competitor and athlete and has been a go-to hitter,” commented coach McGill. “We will be looking for Shelby to step in immediately to help us execute our offense next year. I am excited that she has committed to being a part of the Trojan Volleyball Program. She will bring another solid presence in the middle for us next season.”

Shelby plans to study Pre-Vet during her time at TSJC. She is the daughter of David and Deanna Walker.

Angela is experienced at running a quicker offense, which will be our main focus next season. She has been a great leader for both her high school and club teams. We will be looking for Angela to make an immediate impact for us next fall. I am excited that she has decided to be a part of the Trojan Volleyball Family.”
