Coach Ellen McGill

Ellen McGill is in her third year as the Head Coach of the Lady Trojan volleyball team. Coach McGill came to Trinidad State from Western Carolina University where she was an assistant coach. During her two years with the WCU Catamounts she learned what it takes to run a Division I volleyball program.

 

Prior to her time with Western Carolina, McGill played for Virginia Intermont College where she was the team captain for four years. She still holds the school record for career blocks, blocks in a season, and blocks in a game. She led the team to the regional tournament her senior year where they finished second. While at VIC she was named Academic All-America and Academic All-Conference. She also played basketball for the VIC Cobras.

 

In 2006, at VIC, Coach McGill received her B.S. in sport management with a minor in business. In 2008 she received her Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Western Carolina.

 

Assistant Coach Ashley DiPaola

Coach Ashley DiPaola

Ashley DiPaola is in her first season as an assistant coach for the Lady Trojans.

 

DiPaola is from Trinidad. She attended school at Trinidad High where she led the Miner volleyball and basketball teams for all four of her high school years. She was All-Conference all four years in both sports. Her senior season she was named runner-up to the 3A player of the year in volleyball.

 

After graduating from Trinidad High in 2006 DiPaola attended TSJC where she majored in Massage Therapy and played volleyball for two seasons. She graduated from TSJC in 2008.

 

DiPaola has gained coaching experience the past three seasons returning to her alma mater to help coach the Lady Miners. She also coached the Southeast Elite 16’s club team for three years.
