Trojan teams host Booster Night

The Trinidad State basketball teams will play their first home contests of 2011 this Friday at Scott Gym when they take on Eastern Wyoming for Booster Club Appreciation Night.

The Lady Trojans will have to stop Krystal Pittman, the leading scorer in Region IX, and the 6-11 Lancers if they hope to pick up their first home win of the season. Pittman is averaging over 22 points a game but the 3-11Trojans have played very well in their only two home contests of the season.

Last week the Lady Trojans fell to high scoring Clarendon down in Texas by a score of 109-71. The Bulldogs were on fire from the 3-point line hitting 22 of their 50 attempts from behind the arc. Carolyn Lampkin led Trinidad with 25 points and 11 rebounds with Kiley Dixon adding 14 points and 9 boards.

The Trojan Men will face an Eastern team that is 3-11 on the season and winless on the road. This past weekend TSJC split their weekend games with an 83-81 loss in Clarendon and a 73-55 win on the road against Colorado Christian JV.

The Lady Trojans will tip off at 5 p.m. on Friday evening with the Men’s game to follow. The following evening the Trojan men will face Air Force Prep at 7 p.m.
